How to get your Pibb, or your plushie, on the show:

Step 1:  Casting Call Announcement: Participate by submitting a romantic backstory for your plush dog in the form of a social media post of your plushie with the romantic backstory in the caption or description. You can use any social media but we recommend Instagram. Post your submission to #BarkchelorCasting.

For example: as a pick for The Barkchelor, you could post a simple picture of the Pibborafi Rescue Hero Hamlet plushie (@hamlet_the_rescue) with a description like:
Known for his heroic work as a lifeguard at the inflatable pool in the backyard, Hamlet has saved over 22 plush chew toys from certain doom. He's looking for a love as deep as his love for zoomies and butt scratches, and he’s ready to share his heart (and his squeaky bone) with the right pooch.

And for a female example; you could post a picture of the Pibborafi Rescue Hero Missy plushie (@donelsons_dogs) with a description like:
A former runway model turned dog treat chef, Missy spends her days crafting hot dog sculptures in her kitchen. She dreams of finding a soulmate who enjoys late-night garbage raids and covert sofa-cushion chewing that involve face masks made from peanut butter somehow stolen from the closed-door pantry.

Post your submission, for the Barkchelor, his love interest, or both to #BarkchelorCasting.

Casting will be held from Saturday November 2nd, 2024, through to Friday November 15th, 2024.

Step 2:  You, the fans, reveal the Star... The Barkchelor: The Barkchelor must be a Pibborafi Rescue Hero who is still listed in our online store. The most "likes" on that male Pibborafi plushie on #BarkchelorCasting by midnight Friday November 22nd, 2024 is The Barkchelor.

Step 3:  Now Pibborafi selects the ten females/romantic interests of the Barkchelor: Out of the posts on #BarkchelorCasting we pick the best, most romantically wacky ten (10) contestants the Barkchelor will take on dates by midnight Friday November 25th, 2024. Yes we will also include any plushies that are not Pibborafi Rescue Heroes. Only The Barkchelor himself is required to be a Pibborafi Rescue Hero.

Step 4:  Now the fans stage the dates: For five (5) weeks, one week for every love interest, up until Friday January 24th, 2025, Pibborafi will announce the weekly "date" that the humans will recreate using their stuffies, so you'll need to closely monitor our Instagram page so you don't miss a date. For example: we'll post, "The Barkchelor takes his date to a romantic restaurant to share a bowl of spaghetti."

Those who own The Barkchelor plushie will now stage "dates" that we announce, and that you will post on #BarkchelorMansion.
Note: for people who wish to enter stuffed animals other than Pibborafi Rescue Heroes, it means others will need to know where to buy your particular stuffed doggie so they can recreate dates with them. If your stuffed doggie is hard-to-find, or out of production, you will be the only one equipped to post dates.

Each week up until Friday January 24th, 2025, Pibborafi will announce a new absurd date idea (e.g., "Romantic Skydive from the Edge of the Sofa Cushion Night") with instructions. One post per contestant per week. Post your pics to #BarkchelorMansion.

Pibborafi will describe the date scene in detail, giving examples or playful prompts (e.g., "Show us your pup’s best spaghetti slurp in the Mansion sitting room!"). The "Barkchelor Mansion" is yours to represent so be creative, absurd and a little wacky. Yes, you can post videos as well, or reels.

Voting: You "vote" on which date is the most hilarious, unique, or romantic via comments and/or likes on #BarkchelorMansion.

Elimination Video: Pibborafi will create a short, dramatic elimination video each week, with The Barkchelor "sending home" the least-voted dates.
Note: If Pibborafi does not own any plushies that are competing, we will "compromise" and represent the contestants as cardboard cutouts in our videos. If there is a tie between low "likes" of a contestant, Pibborafi will select which one leaves at random.

Step 5:  Rose Ceremony Finale: Pibborafi will announce a final "date" idea (e.g., "Stuffed Dog Spa Retreat ") where contestants compete for The Barkchelor's final rose.

Rose Ceremony: Pibborafi will create a video of The Barkchelor presenting a tiny rose to the winning plush. We'll post it with commentary on why the winning pup "stole his heart." when one contestant is left.

Announcing the Winner: We will celebrate the winning plush dog and its owner, and share their story on social channels on Friday January 24th, 2025.

The Prize: We will make a donation to The Barkchelor owner's rescue or charity of choice and recreate the winning "The Barkchelor" couple as a special-edition, exclusive Pibborafi Stuffie couple.

If you want to enter a plushie that is not a Pibborafi: Make sure your contestant is a doggie. If you have Pibborafi plushies that's no problem, but if you want to enter another brand of stuffed animal it must be a doggie. For other brands apart from Pibborafi, you will have to assign a gender to it, male or female, both, or alternative gender, just know they will be competing for the love of a male for this season. The fans, and general public, will be voting for who becomes the Barkchelor and who gets eliminated so if we end up having two males in love that's fine, the Barkchelor is all-inclusive. We'll do a fun LGBTQ doggie Barkchelor/ette sometime in the future.
